The Process

Replication is the process of "stamping" your computer, video and music files into an injection-molded CD or DVD. Just like the AOL CDs you receive in the mail and the movie DVDs you rent, the discs are actually manufactured from raw materials. This provides the most cost-effective and reliable approach to producing large quantities.

The files that you provide to us on a CD, DVD, DV tape, e-mail, etc. are transferred to a glass master. A metal stamper is then produced from this glass master. Polycarbonate plastic pellets are stamped into the shape of a CD/DVD containing your data files. A reflective aluminum layer is then added to this clear plastic disc so that the data can be read by the CD/DVD player’s laser.

Once the CDs/DVDs are replicated, the machines then print (Silk-Screen or Offset) the label art directly to the face of the discs. The CDs/DVDs are now complete. The final production lies in the insertion of the CDs/DVDs into their final packaging and made ready for distribution.

Here’s our process:

Step 1: You provide us with label and packaging design files (prepared in our templates); Or, we can design them for you.

Step 2: Printed proofs of the label (and packaging) are sent to you for approval

Step 3: Films are made for printing the label and the packaging

Step 4: You provide us with the files you wish to be replicated via your CD, DVD, DV tape, e-mail, etc.

Step 5: A Glass Master and Metal Stamper are produced

Step 6: Production begins – CDs/DVDs are stamped while they are simultaneously labeled

Step 7: Finished CDs/DVDs are inserted into their packages and readied for distribution

Step 8: Final product is delivered!
